A New Longmont Bank Brings Social Mission

One of the new additions to our Longmont community is High Country Bank. What gets conjured up in your mind when you think of a bank? Most probably it has to do with money. You would be right since banks are all about the transactional relationships involving money.

But money is not the at the core of High Country Bank says Lisa Hamilton, president of this new branch. She reveals confidently, ‘Social mission is THE CORE of who we are.’  Holding fast to the vision and heart of the president of 42 years, High Country Bank defines for themselves an important role as servant within community, as a part of community, creating a better community.

Lisa finds a perfect fit for her own passion as branch president. She chose a career in banking and leadership because she knew there would be the opportunity to make connections and build collaboration. Now she comes to our community proud to carry the legacy High Country Bank is building through its genuine commitment to social mission.

Her team is equally excited to be here. Drew Ballingham, with 17 years in commercial lending, glowed as he spoke of becoming part of ‘one big family,’ numbering 100 employees. Drew has the pleasure of helping small businesses accomplish their dreams. And Ashley Kolberg, standing behind the counter alongside Hannah Painter boasted big smiles (behind their masks,) as the former said, ‘High Country Bank embodies community.’

These are strong and encouraging statements, especially in the wake of economic uncertainty caused by the pandemic. To them, the key is to serve each individual person, each unique dream, each specific need. And High Country Bank of Longmont is showing us action with their words. They have stepped forward to become a partner with HOPE. With their resources, they are supporting the mission of HOPE that the unhoused may have a home. With their resources they are sponsoring HOPE’s next panel discussion about an issue that affects us all , The Imperative of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, happening for FREE April 2nd.

Stop in and say hi to our new friends at High Country Bank. We here at HOPE look forward seeing where they go in our community and one thing is for sure, you can trust they are here for you.
